Attire: Dressy Casual (no jeans, please), the ceremony will be indoors. Weather permitting, the reception will be outside.

Children: We are leaving it up to parents to decide what works best for their family. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide child care. Please indicate on the RSVP if your children will be celebrating with us.

Parking: Ignore the signs that say "Railroad Only" and drive past them to the far back of the lot.

They'll be great food, great drinks (plenty of beer and excellent wine), great music, and even greater people.

Weather permitting, the reception will be outside. June can be an unpredictable month for weather, so please plan to bring an extra jacket to keep warm or if it lightly rains.

Travel Note:

Hood River is a busy tourist town in the summer and we HIGHLY recommend that you book a hotel or AirBnb as soon as you can.

Although further away, The Dalles is 20 minutes East and Portland is 60 minutes West.

Local Hotels:

Airport – Portland International Airport (PDX)

PDX is the nearest major airport to fly into. It is 52 miles from Hood River. Take the exit for I-205 South (to Portland/Salem). Next exit for I-84 East (The Dalles). Take Exit 63 to Downtown Hood River.

Activities

Hood River, Mt Hood, and the Columbia River Gorge have it all, except Elephants. There are no Elephants. There are wineries, breweries, mountain biking, climbing, skiing, coffee shops, hiking, taqueiras, and so much more. Here are a few of our favorites.

Mitchell Point

Mitchell Point is an amazing hike super close to town. It's short and steep, but very do-able. Note, due to the fires in 2017 the trail may unfortunately still be closed. Details at Friends of the Columbia Gorge

Post Canyon

Rent a mountain bike from Hood River Bicycles, ride or drive up to Post Canyon and rip that hero dirt. Trails for pretty much every level, and even more in the outside area. Hood River Area Trail Stewards

Tour the Fruit Loop

Go visit any of the amazing farms on the Hood River Fruit Loop! Map and more details on their website.

White Water Rafting

Wet Plant White Water offers rafting and kayaking trips on the beautiful White Salmon River. It's a lot of fun! Their website

Beacon Rock

Iconic rock towering over the Columbia, with a fun hike to the top and rock climbing opportunties. Beacon Rock State Park

Hot Springs

Not far out of town are some cool hot springs with mineral baths, and apparently a golf course too! Carson Hot Springs

Breweries

There are lots of great Breweries in the area: Pfriem, Full Sail, and Double Mountain are in Hood River. Across the Columbia is Everybody's Brewing in Stevenson, WA. There are also plenty of Wineries nearby.

Wind Sports!

2nd Wind Sports and Big Winds Hood River are the people to talk to about wind surfing and kite boarding. It's windy in the Gorge so you might as well get after it!
